PRAGUE DAY 1: TRAVEL GUIDE

Prague was never at the top of my list of places to visit until I started researching it and after seeing so many beautiful pictures of it on Pinterest and Instagram, I knew I just had to go. This year it seems to have been a really popular destination and I think what makes it so special is there really is something for everyone there. And the best thing about it? It’s SO cheap!

Lil, Boon, Loren and I went on our Prague trip back in Summer, in the middle of August. For anyone looking for accommodation, again I would have to recommend Airbnb. Although we weren’t directly in the centre, we were surrounded by local amenities and saw a less touristy part of the city. We also had easy access to the old town with just a 10 minute ride on tram 9 with the stop only a 5 minute walk from our apartment.

Once we had landed, we got on a bus outside the airport for 60 CZK which took us to the main train station in Prague. From here we had to pick up our keys for our apartment at an office, which was unusual as from past airbnb experiences we have always been greeted by the owner directly at the accommodation. I’m not sure who actually owned our apartment but it was part of Ruttera Apartments and after a 20 minute walk we finally found the office tucked away down one of the streets. I was actually so impressed with the company as the people there were so friendly and sat us down and explained the area as well giving us all maps. It was perfect for tourists!

Once we had paid the city tax and got ourselves sorted, we called an Uber which is honestly so unbelievably cheap!!! Our journey took about 15 minutes and cost us about 60 CZK which equates to only £2!

After getting changed into more appropriate attire considering it was a blissful 30 degrees, we trundled out to find a supermarket. 10 minutes from our apartment we found a shop and got all our essentials which came to £12 each.

With the recommendation from the girl at the travel office, we headed to Vitkov park in the evening to watch the sunset. She said that a lot of locals do this every week and once we finally found the part of the hill where everyone sat, we sat down with our bevs and crisps and admired the gorgeous view. I literally don’t think any of my footage or pictures do it any justice but it was such a lovely evening spent with the girls, (despite all the wasps, we had to abandon our drinks in the end haha). This was such a special evening and I would highly recommend going to this park for sunset.
