If you’re looking to support local produce and you want a little trip to a unique ‘farm shop’ (if that’s what you class it as!) then this little vending machine in Aldington is the place to go. If you live nearby it’s a novel, contactless way of collecting a few delicious treats! I’ve never seen such a genius way of selling fresh food before.
‘The Egg Machine’ as it’s called is part of Bank Farm Poultry and is open 24/7.
It is filled with eggs, and a number of homemade goodies from quiches, afternoon tea kits, pizza kits, brownies and fudge. The other week my dear friend Lily gave me a box of the fudge and it was so good I just had to buy another box!
Paying is really really easy, there’s instructions on how to work the screen and it takes card payment which is perfect. It basically is just a huge refrigerated vending machine.
Once paid, the container you picked will open and you can take your produce! It’s quick, innovative and worth the visit if you’re popping past! I can’t wait to go back and buy some brownies, I’ve heard good things about them!
If you want to make a day of it then Port Lympne Safari Park is just a 10 minute car journey away from the vending machine or you could even drive 20 minutes to Hythe Beach to spend the rest of the day by the coast.
I found this hidden gem through word of mouth so hopefully this post will share it’s existence with a few more people.
